Paint consulting papers, c.1980-1997.

This collection contains requests for advice about the use of color, mostly for the exterior of homes. Most of the requests were received as the result of a promotion sponsored by Lowe's and the Valspar Corporation, involving the use of Southern Heritage colors. The other requests came from readers of Victorian Homes, mostly asking for help with chosing colors for their pre-World War I homes. Some also want to know what style their house is consisdered to be (i.e. Queen Anne, Eastlake, etc.). The requests usually include a photo of the building. Some also include historical information about the house or neighborhood. Unfortunately, Mr. Freeman's answers are not always included with the questions.
